Outlook 365 from Microsoft 365 or Office 365 provides users the ability to check their enterprise Exchange e-mails online from any web browser. This service uses an Exchange server fully managed by Microsoft Corporation. Outlook 365 makes it easy for you to open a web browser either on your Windows phone/tablet, Android smartphone, iPad or iPhone, enter a URL such as https://outlook.office365.com/mail/login.html and log in to check your email, instead of using Outlook on your local PC. This Microsoft mail service is similar to other web email services like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Live, etc.
Not only does Outlook 365 give you access to your enterprise e-mail, but it also provides tools like calendar and contacts information to help you bring your work in one place. All you need is just an Internet connection, mobile device, and a web browser. In reality, Microsoft Exchange is an email management server software that runs on a data center. With Office 365, you can still access the Outlook previously installed on your PC. However, Outlook 365 helps you to have a direct internet connection to an Exchange server managed by Microsoft instead of using Exchange server that your IT team manages.
Microsoft 365 vs. Office 365: What’s the difference?
With the rapid growth in application development, technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, Apple, Samsung, etc, have created different tailor-made solutions that appear to be the same product. How to Use Outlook 365 from Office 365 or Microsoft 365
Here are the steps to follow:
- All you need to do is to type in the Outlook 365 URL which is outlook.office365.com/mail/login. This opens an Outlook official website.
- By selecting Sign In button, you will be prompted to enter your email address. Enter your email address and select Next to continue.
- When a new page pops up, enter your password and select Sign In. This will automatically log you into your Outlook account.
Note that Outlook 365 is an application that rides on either Microsoft 365 or Office 365 on your local device. It allows you to connect to the Microsoft Exchange server to check and manage your e-mail, contacts, and calendar.
